You can't just sit back and expect training to be fun all by itself. You need to bring yourself to the activity with an open mind, you need to allow yourself the possibility of enjoying the experience of exercise.
What do you discover when you engage in physical activity with awareness?
Pain? Distress? Satisfaction? Freedom? Clarity? Release? Stillness? Empowerment?
Are you training by yourself, or with a friend? A trainer? Do you feel confident? Intimidated?
For me it's a mixed bag. There's catharsis, achievement, and over time an increased awareness of my body that I enjoy very much. A feeling of being at home in my own skin, a quiet confidence that has nothing to do with the way I look, and everything to do with how capable I feel. There's the knowledge that I am better equipped to deal with failure than I used to be.
